Safeguarding Adults Week 2025
Monday 17th November – Friday 21st November 2025
Safeguarding Adults Week is an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of safeguarding adults. The week brings organisations and communities together to share and develop knowledge, resources and best practise that promote the wellbeing and protection of adults. The Nation Theme for 2025 is Prevention.
Knowsley Safeguarding Adults Board are planning a week of awareness raising locally in Knowsley and across Merseyside to highlight key safeguarding issues. In addition to webinars and awareness communications we will hold a community event to showcase coproduction activities each day of the week in Prescot.
The week helped to remind us that it’s much better to prevent abuse from occurring than it is to respond to instances of harm, neglect, and isolation.
Throughout the week, a community event took place in Prescot town centre, helping to raise awareness of Safeguarding Adults.
The Community Event included the launch of a new Knowsley Safeguarding Adults Board video – ‘Hear my voice – what safeguarding means to me’ which was written by members of the Older People’s Voice Group, Your Voice, Your Choice, The Arc and Act for Action groups.
The video highlights the importance of all professionals hearing the voice of the adult and making safeguarding and support personal, so far it has been well received with comments received, ‘really powerful and every professional should watch it.’
